Video Game Themed ABC Book

In this course we had to illustrate an entire ABC book for children.  I chose to use video game characters.  Mostly, I traced over the characters because the characters were already established.  I tried to use simple shapes instead of going into much detail.  Since this was a children's book it was recommended to use a variety of colors so I used Adobe Kuler to help me decide which colors worked well with others.

Martial Arts Studio Logo

In this assignment, we had three types of companies to choose from, and needed to make three logos for each.  I decided to go with Fierce Fighters because I thought it sounded the most fun out of the other choices.  Right away, I felt like there should be ying-yangs in these logos somewhere.  Also the Chinese symbols stands for kung-fu.  My favorite has to be the one with the koi fish, I like how easy it is to look at.

Rocco Baviera Style of a Scarlet Snake

For this illustration I was using a Rocco Baviera style for the Indiana DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife.  I was to choose from a list of endangered species and ended up picking the scarlet snake.  I decided to go with the scarlet snake mainly because the colors and interesting patterns caught my eye.

Color Themes

Font Choices

For this project, we had to make 3 different made up logos and choose one to finalize.  I wanted a penguin theme with more simplicity in the design.  Since I was using a penguin theme I decided to go towards an ice delivery company which than helped me pick out the color theme.  This font stood out to me because I thought it looked clean and neat just like the logo.
